Examples of Reports

  3. Joe Student attends John Adams Middle School. His innovative Math teacher is using My Strategic Compass to integrate career exploration with interpreting graphs and data. Joe takes the Skills and Work Importance assessments and enters his ACT Plan Interest and Work Keys scores in My Strategic Compass. Electrician is identified as his highest match. He clicks on the “Individual Career & College Readiness Plan” to create a customized report to analyze his skills with the Electrician skills. 8th Grade Student in Kanawha County

Joe clicks on the “individual Career & College Readiness Plan” and enters: Name Location School ACT Work Keys levels from WIN or actual assessment scores Selects a target occupation Clicks “Submit” This 25+ page report is generated and can be saved. To analyze another occupation, he would do these same steps. WV My Strategic Compass

Joe’s Customized Individual Career & College Readiness Report • My Current Skills graphs his interest, knowledge, work importance and ACT Work Key results compared to those needed by Electricians and provides a list of occupations matching his assessments in ranking order. • My Target Occupation describes the Electrician occupation in detail. • My Career Pathway identifies the education/training pathway for the Architecture and Construction pathway. • My Education Options details the education and institutions in Kanawha County that provide electrician training.

  6. Jane Doe is a 2004 CTE graduate in the Welding program. She has been working as a welder traveling in five states. The company downsized and she lost her job. She visits the Cabell County CTC ABE program for guidance on transitioning to a new career. After completing the Individual Career & College Readiness Plan in My Strategic Compass, she matches with the health cluster and decides to explore the Licensed Practical Nursing occupation. The bottom of page 12 explains the Ability differences between Welders and LPN’s: • Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses have many more Ability requirements than Welding, Soldering, and Brazing Machine Setters, Operators, and Tenders. Oral Comprehension, Problem Sensitivity, Written Comprehension, Inductive Reasoning, Speech Recognition, Written Expression have a large gap that • may need to be improved before you can successfully transition. • The bottom of page 13 explains the KNOWLEDGE, page 14 SKILLS, and page 15 ACT Work Keys CRC differences between Welders and LPN’s
