2020 Vision: Commitment to 30% CO2 Reduction and Carbon Management Strategies

In our 2020 vision, we commit to a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions against a 2005 baseline. This initiative encompasses key areas such as electricity, natural gas, refrigeration gases, haulage, travel, and waste. Facing a potential £80 million cost by 2020, we aim to create a robust plan aligned with the CRC requirements. By implementing cost-effective measures in new stores and improving existing store efficiencies through innovative technologies like LED lighting, natural daylight, and solar power, we strive to meet our carbon reduction goals and enhance sustainability.
