The oil spill has affected people in many ways. Like oil has covered the beaches and people cannot go in the water.
Animals have also been affected by the oil. Oil has gotten stuck in birds feathers and is poison to fish and other animals that live in the water.
Bigger animals have also been affected by the oil spill. Whales have been found dead on the beach. Others are sick from the oil. Like this sperm whale.
But workers work day and night to try to clean up the beaches, get oil out of birds feathers, and try to stop the leak from getting bigger and bigger.
