The UPBEAT study investigates the complex relationship between coronary heart disease (CHD) and depression in primary care patients. Over five years, funded by an NIHR Programme Grant, the research includes a cohort of 802 participants, focusing on demographic data and the development of a parsimonious multivariate logistic regression model to analyze associations between participant characteristics and clinical diagnosis of depression, assessed using the CIS-R tool. The findings aim to enhance understanding and treatment strategies for patients experiencing both conditions.
