  3. Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA) • Definition: presence of electrical activity, not sufficient for adequate contractions to generate a palpable pulse

  4. Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA) • Causes: • Hypovolemia • Hypoxia • Hydrogen ions (acidosis) • Hyperkalemia / Hypokalemia • Hypoglycemia • Hypothermia • Toxins (Drugs) • Cardiac Tamponade • Tension pneumothorax • Thrombosis (MI) • Thrombosis (PE) • Trauma (hypovolemia)
