  4. What was the significance of this battle? • On September 18,1862 a Union Soldier found a copy of Lee’s order’s to his commanders wrapped around three cigars at an abandoned confederate camp site.

  9. How many people died in the battle of Antietam? • The Union had 2,108 soldiers were killed. • The Confederate forces lost 1,548,Thought the Union had almost twice as many troops in the Battle ,but the Union suffered more then the Confederate.
