  3. You are a reporter for the North or South. Your job is to report the Battle of Antietam as completely as possible. Examine Map Photographs Field Reports Firsthand accounts It’s your job to determine what is the best cover story for your “side”. Write an article and then to create a front page for your “newspaper”.

  5. Confederate dead at Bloody Lane, looking northeast from the south bank. The group of Union soldiers looking on were likely members of the 130th Pennsylvania, who were assigned burial detail on the 19th.

  6. Confederate dead along the west side of Hagerstown Pike. Photo taken about 500 yards north of Dunker Church, looking north, on September 19, 1862. The dirt lane on the left is not Hagerstown Pike, but a path on Miller's Farm. Hagerstown Pike is on the right side of the post-and-rail fence.
