Are you for or against the topic? • would be faster to get to parts of a book section. It would probably be more appealing to the students. The students would enjoy being on a electronic than being on a old textbook.
SHOULD STUDENTS BE ABLE TO EAT IN CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • YES, students should be aloud to eat in class. • It is to long of a wait to go to lunch. • It’s hard to do assignments on an empty stomach.
Facts • Tablets are a $35 billion industry with roughly one in three adults owning a tablet. As tablets have become more prevalent, a new debate has formed over whether K-12 school districts should switch from print textbooks to digital textbooks on tablets. . Proponents of tablets say that they are supported by most teachers and students, are much lighter than print textbooks, and improve standardized test scores. They say tablets can hold hundreds of textbooks, save the environment by lowering the amount of printing, increase student interactivity and creativity, and that digital textbooks are cheaper than print textbooks.
Should Be Allowed To Eat During Class? Fact #3 • Another reason why students should be allowed to eat during class is, it can get there minds focus and gives them the learning ability. Some students stay off task because they are hungry and worried about eating and not focusing on there school work. When allowed to eat during class, it should be a small little snack, not something to heavy.
Why don’t kids study in a week advance so they wont have to study all night? • Kids these days do not like to study at all because they want to go to sleep. If kids want to go to sleep they should study a week in advance, so they will not have to study all night long. Some parents make their kids study a week in advance and some do not. Some kids take school seriously so they can go to college or parents want their children to be successful. When kids do not study in a week in advance they seem to have a higher percentage of failing the test than kids who do study
My Position • Boys and girls should not be in separate classes. I am strongly against the fact that separate genders should be separated into different classes. I have a few different reasons that I will address in this presentation and they are: boys and girls need to be able to work together when they get older, boys need to learn respect for women, and students need to be able to work in situations that you do not want to.
Not having energy • Children need to be able to refuel throughout the day to maintain energy. Livestrong.com stated, “Giving students a short break to allow them to eat a healthy snack can help to encourage concentration and reenergize tired students.” Once kids get food in their system they will be ready to conquer the rest of their day.
FIRST POINT • “Tablets help to improve students achievements on standardized tests.” “At Riverside Unified School District students who used the iPad version scored 20% higher then students that learned with a traditional textbook.” In the real-world today not many people use text books they use tablets and apple products. With all your work you have to do and how much space textbooks take up e-readers and tablets take up little space and you only need one light tablet not 3 to 5 heavy textbooks to carry around.
Distractions Another reasons that eating in class can be dangerous is it can be very distracting to other people. Pulling out chips and eating them in the middle of class can distract the person next to you trying to listen to the teacher. Jennifer Brozak’sarticle on Live Strong shows this when it says, “If you’ve ever tried to concentrate or watch a movie while someone sitting close to you was gnawing on a crunchy snack, you know how distracting food can be.” This is another reason why eating in class is a bad idea.
Boyfriends and Girlfriends • Many people know that a good part of girls brains are filled with thoughts of boys. People also know that boys are always thinking about girls. They want to stare at them in class which will be a HUGE distraction. According to Debate.org “Love life stays outside of school and so everyone stays more concentrated.” If boys and girls are separated then students will not be makinglove eyes made while teachers are talking about ‘boring’ stuff.
