Long-Term Goals • I will adopt 21st century teaching approaches where teachers focus on teacher behavior and student achievement. • I will organize instruction so students become more independent learners. • I will act as facilitator to help students build on their own strengths and incorporate their own interests into their work.
Short –Term Goals • I will increase student vocabulary. • I will promote speaking and listening skills • I will develop student confidence by providing encouragement.
Instructional Strategies and Tasks • I will carry out vocabulary building exercises by providing visual aid (e.g. real objects, play acting, hand puppets, etc.). • I will ask students questions to increase their English speaking fluency. • I will give students personal attention to increase their confidence. • I will monitor student progress to keep track of their academic development.
Solutions to Anticipated Challenges • The Principal may disagree with my teaching approach. • The parents may have questions about my teaching approach. • Some students may have difficulty with my teaching approach. • I will share my course outline and explain my teaching method. • I will write to and meet with parents to discuss my teaching method. • I will give more attention to these students.
