This partnership focuses on enhancing research capabilities in Cameroon through capacity building initiatives, including workshops on Fusarium identification and visits to laboratories. The project provides essential equipment and administrative facilities to support research activities and fosters collaboration between institutions. Through secondment agreements, researchers gain valuable experience and knowledge exchange, strengthening the research landscape.

Capacity building (Equipments) • A computer and accessories. • A digital camera. • Laboratory equipments including: • -Elx800 Universal Microplate Reader. • -ELISA kits for fumonisin analysis. • -Automatic pipettes and pipette tips. • Office and other administrative facilities provided in IITA, Nkolbisson,Yaounde Cameroon.
Capacity Building (Human resources) • Workshop on Fusarium identification 25 September to 2 October 2004 at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. • Visit of IITA Maize Pathology Laboratory in Ibadan for two weeks. • A secondment agreement was signed between IRAD and IITA whereby Dr. Ngoko is spending at least 30 % of his working time in IITA Humid Forest Station in Nkolbisson Yaoundé.
