  2. The 6th two hours will deal with review, warm-up, the study of Passage Four in Part Two and Passage One in Part Three, a brief summary and homework. 1. review Divide the students into several groups. Try to discuss and summarize information about navigational warnings.

  13. 5. 88(P)/10 INDIAN OCEAN - Andaman Islands - South Andaman Island - South Coast - Chiriyatapu -Light. Source: Indian Notice 23/383(P)/09 1. A new lighthouse has been constructed at Chiriyatapu in position 11° 28´·80N., 92° 42´·66E. (Undetermined Datum). A light, Fl(2)10s50m20M is being shown on a trial basis. Charts affected - 825 - 827 - 830 - 1398 FL=flashing，闪光，指的是光亮的时间短于光暗的时间； Oc.=occulting, 明暗光，指在一个周期内光亮的时间长于光 暗的时间的灯光；Iso.=Isophase, 等明暗光，即光明暗时间 相等。

Nil received. 6 Navarea III (Mediterranean) Weekly Edition 1 Edited Navarea III warnings in force 22/12/09: 2009 series: 413. 437 and 438 received. 2009 series: 413 SEA OF AZOV. Chart BA 2234.   15. 7 SPECIAL WARNING NUMBER 29 CUBA 1. Mariners are advised touse extreme caution in transiting the waters surrounding Cuba. Within distances extending in some cases upwards of 20 miles from the Cuban coast, vessels have been stopped and boarded by Cuban authorities. Cuba vigorously enforces a 12 mile territorial sea extending from straight baselines drawn from Cuban coastal points. The effect is that Cuba’s claimed territorial sea extends in many cases beyond 12 miles from Cuba’s physical coastline. 第7例航海通告来自于第三部分附录A中美国政府 自2009年12月22日生效的特别警告(ANNEX A USA Government Special Warnings in force on 22nd December 2009).

  18. Part Three Other Nautical Publications Introduction The navigator uses many information sources when planning and conducting a voyage. These sources includeNotices to Mariners, Sailing Directions, Light Lists, Tide Tables, Sight Reduction Tables, and Almanacs. Historically, this information has been found in printed publications; increasingly, it is being integrated into computer-based electronic systems. The navigator must know what information he needs to navigate his ship safely and how to obtain it.

  19. This part will refer only to printed publications. If the navigator has access to this data on an electronic database, only his method of access will differ. The publications discussed here form a basic navigation library; the navigator must also obtain all supplementary materials required to navigate his ship safely.

  20. Types and Sources of Publications While voyage planning and navigating, a mariner must refer to both texts and tables. Examples of text include Sailing Directions, Coast Pilots, and Notices to Mariners. Examples of tables include a Light Lists and Sight Reduction Tables.

  21. Navigational publications are available from many sources. Military customers automatically receive or requisition most required publications. The civilian navigator obtains his publications from a publisher’s agent. Larger agents representing many publishers can completely supply a ship’s chart and publication library.
