On March 14, 2012, the Downstream Advisory Council convened to discuss significant revisions to the Petroleum Safety Training (PST) course materials, ensuring alignment with industry standards. The updated slides and trainer notes were circulated for feedback and approval. 4. Petroleum Safety Training • John Reynolds Training has revised Petroleum Safety Training (PST) Course slides and materials in light of Pilot. • Slides circulated to DAC and DAC sub group for final feedback and approval • PST trainer notes and delegate notes have been written. • Need to agree implementation of training (DAC members to require Contractors to have training) • Training delivery mechanism – via NSAPI Accredited CCNSG trainers (limited pool) • Meeting held with ECITB to discuss alignment with CCNMSG providers – discussions on-going. • Need to agree mechanism for proof of completion of training
6. 2012 Downstream Action Plan • Proposed Key priorities: • Finalising and establishing the Contractor Process Safety Training Course – sign off the course, agree how training will be verified by the sites, ‘mandate’ the course with Contractor companies, implement training and monitor and review progress • Further embedding of Gold Standards – discussing usage and good practice at the DAC, how to further embed the framework, promotion and the opportunities relating GIF2 etc. Need for further Gold Standards? • Competence & Downstream CMS Guidelines (Academy Competence Assurance Offer and UKPIA tools) • Process Safety Management - including Leadership, management and operators (plus other supporting tools/ interventions) • Minor areas: • Participation in Skills Oracle Survey 2012 • Apprenticeships & Higher Level Apprenticeships • Foundation Degree • Other area to explore: • Employer Ownership Fund Pilot
