  1. Welcome to my Conference! • February 2006 • 8th grade • Christina

  2. What was your easiest assignment in Algebra & why? • My easiest assignment in Algebra was the very last journal of the second quarter. It was simple because it was basically summing up everything for the second quarter and it wasn’t that long.

  3. What was your hardest Algebra assignment & why? • The hardest assignment in Algebra was an assignment that dealt with graphing linear inequalities. It was very difficult because it was new and confusing.

  4. What have been your easiest and hardest Social Studies assignments? Describe them. • The easiest social studies assignment was a worksheet concerning Lewis and Clark. The worksheet included a helpful text. All of the answers are in the text. • The hardest assignment was the U.S. constitution test. It was very long and required A LOT of studying.

  5. In Science & Spanish, what assignment has frustrated you the most? Why? • In science, the assignments that frustrated me the most was the Directed Reading packets because they required a lot of reading and writing. • In Spanish, the assignments that frustrated me the most was the stem-changing preterit tense verbs worksheets because we did so many of them!

  6. Do you feel challenged in Language Arts? Why/not? Describe your favorite activity so far. • Yes I do feel challenged in Language Arts because we have to read stories and answer difficult questions about them. Sra. Thompson makes sure we know what we’re reading about!

  7. What stresses you out about school and why? • What stresses me about school is that we don’t have long enough times to relax. Our recesses have been cut shorter and we need the extra 15 minutes!

  8. Pick two specific classes you can improve in, and tell two specific steps you can take to improve. • I could improve in Algebra. I can get more help from Sra. Barber and I can study with my parents more. • I could also improve in Science. I can ask Sr. Riddel more questions and stay after school for extra help with homework.

  9. How much time do you spend doing homework each night? Describe your routine. • I spend about 2 hours doing homework each night. First I come home, watch tv and eat a snack. Then I either go on the computer or practice piano. Then, I do my homework and eat dinner.

  10. What are your test grades like? Tell three specific ways you study. • I either get A’s or high B’s. • I study with my mom. I study with the teachers. I study by myself or on the computer with an online tutor.

  11. As you prepare to go to high school, what subjects or areas do you feel you need the most improvement? How can your teachers & parents help? • I need the most improvement in Algebra. • Sra. Barber can answer my questions and my parents can help me study.

  12. Teacher Comment Page Christina- Your comments are reflective, and I appreciate your recognition of both your strengths and weaknesses. Your presentation, however, hurt my eyes! You had too many transitions, and I had to find your words by clicking a million times (a little hyperbole for you!). Maybe you had too much time to work on it… 25 out of 30 points. I always appreciate your helpful attitude, and your strong work ethic. Now that work is getting harder, though (and as you think about high school) you may need to refocus on putting extra effort and detail into your work. Sra. T.
