Academics Academics Workshops, Case Studies and Industry Talks • We will be organizing a variety of workshops, case studies and industry talks throughout the semester, enabling students to learn more about what is going on in the finance industry today. • We will send out emails announcing these events, but they will include: • Workshops • Training the Street • September 16 for 2nd years • Another session is being organized later this year for first years • Case Studies • We are working with a variety of employers, including investment banks and buyside firms to come to campus to lead case study workshops for students • Industry Talks • Opportunity to take advantage of the faculty resources we have here at Haas • Every few weeks on a different topic pertinent to what is going on in the economy • Sep 17th Monday - C110: Prof. Nancy Wallace will be giving a talk on the Subprime Mortgage and Credit Markets • Unbelievable chance to learn about what is going on in the market from one of the experts in the field

Warren Buffett Trip Warren Buffett Trip • Date: November 19-20 • Location: Omaha , Nebraska • Agenda: • 8:30-9:30 Q&A/tour at Nebraska Furniture Mart, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary • 10:00-12:00 Q&A with Mr. Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway. Mr. Buffett will give a short speech and then spend most of the time answering questions on a rotating basis between the schools. • 12:30-2:30 Lunch with Mr. Buffett at one of his favorite steakhouses.
