  1. PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP MEETING 28/07/16

  2. Welcome to Summer 2016 • Traditionally a quieter time of the year , but needs good weather ! • August is a busy time for changeover of our trainee doctors but we plan for this every year successfully

  3. STAFF UPDATE • New Foundation Year 2 Doctor • 2 new GP Trainees both year 1 • Dr Ed Platford is now fully qualified GP Trainer • Amanda Stanley joined our nursing team in April (Respiratory background) • **NAME OF NEW NURSE***

  4. Medical secretary Deborah Bygrave leaving this week • Replacement starting later in August

  5. CQC outcome • Inspection March 2016 • Outcome “good” across the board • Thanks for support and help during what was a stressful busy time of the year. • Next inspection probably in 5 years?

  6. EVENTS • CHARITY WALK : Yorkshire Three Peaks 11/06/16. Raised over £1000 target. • Planning to repeat next year. • Macmillan Coffee morning event: 30/09/16 “what do the group think for this year?” • Jeans for Genes Day 23/09/16 ?

  7. New Services • New provider of NHS Physiotherapy, hosted at College Lane. • Dermatology Community clinic alternate Wednesday afternoons, starting 03/08/16. • Joint initiative between Mid Yorkshire Hospital dermatology specialists and Novus. • Triaged by consultation and allocated to an appropriate clinic, and will accept Children and Adults

  8. Maintaining Level 4 Diabetes service provision allowing us to be able to commence insulin therapy and invite patients with more challenging diabetes issues to attend a joint clinic with Dr Da Costa, Consultant Diabetologist. • Enhanced joint injections service by Dr Ed Platford.

  9. Service reminders • Hosted ultrasound service alternate weeks • Cryotherapy and minor surgery • Repeat dispensing system with Lo’s Pharmacy (>1000 patients signed up) • Electronic prescribing –”no paper” • On Line prescription ordering when signed up for On Line Access.
