Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) play a vital role in ensuring that patient voices are heard in GP services. Mandated by the Care Quality Commission, these groups allow patients to contribute feedback and ideas, leading to more patient-focused healthcare. Types of PPGs include Friends of the Practice and representatives chosen based on demographics. Effective PPGs require minimal administration, targeted subjects, and manageable meetings. They facilitate improvements in services, input on surveys, community needs, and even fundraising, ultimately benefiting both patients and healthcare providers.
