She rode the elevator down two levels, up four levels, and down two more levels. What floor did she end up on? 2. A Navy submarine was 50 ft. below sea level. It rose 15 ft., sank 90 ft., rose 20 ft., and sank 15 ft. Where is the submarine? 3. An airplane was at an elevation of 400 ft. above the ground. It descended 125 ft., and descended an additional 75 ft. However, it was in the flight path of another plane, so it ascended 100 ft. What is the plane’s altitude? “Temperature”Examples: It was a brisk 10°F on a wintery night in Alaska. However, the wind-chill factor made it feel like it was -8°F. What is the difference between these two temperatures? 2. The record low temperature for January in Augusta, Maine is -15°F, while the record high temperature is 45°F. What is the difference between the record low and the record high?

  2. 3. The temperature on Monday was 12°F. By Tuesday, it fell 20 degrees. What was the temperature on Tuesday? “Money”Examples: • You are balancing your checkbook for the week. You already have $75.00 in the account. This week, you received a paycheck for $75.00, a water bill for $23, an electric bill for $125.00, a paycheck for $180.00, and a cell phone bill for $60.00. After paying the bills and depositing the checks, how much do you have left? • 2. You owe your parents $25. You earn a weekly allowance of $10. How many weeks will it take you to save enough money to pay your parents back? _______________ Once you pay them back, how much money do you have left? Miscellaneous: • 1. In four different plays, the Steelers gained 10 yards, lost 5 yards, gained 15 yards, and lost 10 yards.
