It actually does feel like a Friday. Short weeks are nice, but I feel like we have to pack in everything we need to do into four days. We read lots of monster books this week and made cute monsters! They are hanging in the hall! We wrote stories about monsters and talked about how adjectives are words that describe things. We went to the book fair and enjoyed music this week. We have sounded out words this week and increased our confidence in reading through reading groups. We played a sight word competition and used ten frames in math to see how many more objects do we need in order to make ten. I can’t wait until Friday the 18th. We will have so much fun. Thanks again for the donations for our craft order and if you were able to volunteer we will send home a letter with your craft listed. I also did lots of assessing this week for report cards. I tested sight words, letters, numbers, letter sounds, rhyming words, syllables, shapes, etc… I will also be sending home my newsletter each week in your child’s folder. Lots of people have had trouble getting my file to open when I was e-mailing it and some e-mail address are still not current...Whew! Have a nice three day weekend! The health department will come November 21st from 8:30-12:00 to administer the flu vaccine to students that have turned in their consents. They are no longer accepting consents. Don’t forget to start deciding what character your child will dress up as for the book character parade. Don’t forget to send in the book with your child. Have fun!!! The schedule for red ribbon week is attached to this newsletter! We had no homework this week since it was a short week. It will resume next week – yee – haw!
