  2. When was your National Park first established ? • In 1972 and it is in Kemmerer Wyoming.

  3. 3.Why was this area recognized as a National Park? • Because it was protecting part of the green river. It also was protecting lots of animals.

  4. 5. From a geologist's perspective, how was the park formed? • For 50 million years there was a river and it left behind fossils which built up and formed a layer of rock made up of limestone, mudstone and volcanic ash.

  5. 7.What types of rocks can be found in the monument? • There are limestone, mudstone, and volcanic ash. Also one of the reason they named it Fossil Butte because it has a lot of fossils of fish and living creatures

  6. 9.What special landforms or geographic features are parts of your park? • There are two rivers, one is called the Green River and another called the Fossil River.

  7. How is the land inside your park currently changing? • It is becoming more of a desert; more sandy and warm.

  8. 10. What environmental issues are affecting your park? • Climate change is making the surface get hotter and animals might move somewhere else.
