  2. Policy & Programmes_ PROPOSED • Advocate the concern authorities for developing Targeted National Plan on IYCF 2. Advocate the concern authorities for adequate fund for IYCF 3. Advocate chairman of NBC of regular meeting and co-ordination with other sectors 4. Organize meeting with other NGO & INGO, Govt., IYCF for collaborating and strengthening breastfeeding movement

  3. Policy & Programmes Achieved - National Plan on IYCF developed but funding was not adequate. - Different partners came to develop WBTi report Future Plan - Continue advocating for same

  4. BFHI 2009 Proposed • Advocate concern authorities for revitalization of BFHI • Advocacy for adequate fund of BFHI • Advocate for conducting training on BFHI on regular basis • Advocate for phase wise expansion of BFHI • Advocate for regular monitoring & reassessment of BFHI with standardized tools

  5. BFHI Achieved - None. Future Plan - Continue advocating BFHI.

  6. The Code and Legislation Proposed • Advocate for sensitization of all health workers on code • Advocate for identifying person responsible for monitoring code at National level • Advocate for issuing administrative directives on code to all health facilities • Conduct market survey on BMS

  7. The Code and Legislation Achieved - Development of proposal for market survey on BMS Future Plan - Continue advocating for code & legislation - Conduct market survey

  8. Maternity Protection Proposed • Advocate for 6 months maternity leave in public and private sector • Advocate maternity protection for women working informal/unrecognized sector • Advocate for implementation of ILO MPC No. 183

  9. Maternity Protection Achieved • In government offices maternity leave increased by 15 days • 7 days leave for fathers Future plan • Continue advocating for 6 months maternity leave

  10. Health and Nutrition System Proposed • Advocate for adequate coverage of IYCF in pre service curriculum of health professionals • Advocate for training of health workers in IYCF • Advocate for integration of IYCF in all training

  11. Health and Nutrition System Achieved • Training of health professionals on IYCF – ongoing Future plan - Continue advocating for adequate coverage of IYCF in pre-service training

  12. Mother support and Community Outreach Proposed • Advocate for access and counseling services on IYCF at community level for pregnant women • Advocate for national coverage of IYCF at community level • Advocate for training of community based health workers on IYCF

  13. Mother support and Community Outreach Achieved • Government is planning to start community level IYCF service Future plan - Continue advocating for same

  14. Information support Proposed • Advocate for national IEC strategy on IYCF • Advocate for IYCF activities at local level • Organize and prepare IEC materials on IYCF for electronic and print media • Organize meeting with media for Breastfeeding/IYCF movement

  15. Information support Achieved - Meeting with media during launching of 1 million campaign to support women to breastfeed Future plan - Continue advocating

Infant feeding & HIV Proposed • Advocate for training of all health workers on HIV/infant feeding in phase manner • Advocate for antenatal VCCT in all health facilities in phase manner • Advocate for monitoring to see effect of intervention in transmission of HIV through infant feeding • Advocate for regular monitoring of HIV/infant feeding

  17. Infant feeding & HIV Achieved • Guidelines for infant feeding & HIV developed • Training of health professionals ongoing Future plan - Continue advocating

Infant Feeding During Emergency Proposed • Advocate for identification of person responsible for national co-ordination • Advocate for developing necessary guidelines for exclusive breastfeeding and appropriate complementary feeding • Advocate for prior resource identification • Advocate for appropriate materials on IYCF in emergencies in pre service curriculum

  19. Infant Feeding During Emergency Achieved • Publication of joint statement by Government restricting free distribution of BMS during flood Future plan - Continue advocating for developing necessary guidelines

  20. Monitoring and Evaluation Proposed • Advocate for strengthening M & E component on IYCF in national program • Advocate for strengthening mechanism information to decision makers in IYCF • Advocate for conducting base line survey and follow up data on IYCF on regular basis

  21. Monitoring and Evaluation Achieved - Not much Future plan - Continue advocating for strengthening M&E component on IYCF
