  1. Fourth Grade Free Press Mr. Fox’s Class Friday, September 24th 2010 Hi Families, We just finished our Unit on National Parks and had the opportunity to take some neat virtual tours and learn more about these beautiful places. Some of your students were interested in going to the National Parks website to learn more, so I figured that I would add it in our newsletter. http://www.nps.gov At this website they have a ton of neat interactive tools, videos and some great pictures. This week we took our Math NWEA test in computer lab. Next week we will be taking our third and final NWEA on Language Arts. We will take this test in computer on Wednesday, so please make sure that your students get a good night sleep Tuesday night and a healthy breakfast on Wednesday morning. On the back of this newsletter you will see instruction on how to access your child’s math book online from home. The instruction are very specific and also provide you with a username and password to use. This could be a big help when they get stuck on homework at home, so be sure to check it out! (I am also having them put a copy in the back of their planner, so you will always have a backup.) Our star of the week person for this coming week will be Nick R. Thank you very much for everything you do for your kids! If you have any questions for me please don’t hesitate to e-mail or call. -Mr. Fox Upcoming Dates: September: Monday 27th – No School: Staff Development Tuesday 28th– Coffee Night with Mr. Fox 7-8pm October: Wednesday 6th – Abstract Globes are Due Wednesday 20th-Friday 22nd – No School: MEA Break Tuesday 26th– Coffee Night with Mr. Fox 7-8pm Friday 29th –Early Release Day –Staff Development Language Arts: We are moving on to week 4 of Unit 1. I finally think I have the online ordering set up. It seems like it would be very easy for all of you. You would need to go to the website above. When you are there you can use our class user name and password to enter in to our class. (I know not very original, but hopefully you will be able to remember it!) Once you get to that point you can enter the catalog and order! It is easier than it sounds! If you prefer, you can continue to send in the paper order form to school. If you choose to do it this way please remember to make checks payable to Scholastic Book Order and NEVER SEND CASH!
