  2. A brief history… Humans evolved from ape-like ancestors but they needed to run long distances – for many reasons, perhaps to hunt animals – so therefore the ability to run shaped our anatomy, making us look like we do today.

  3. History continued • People have run together as a social activity throughout history • People have run because they want to spend time with themselves • People run to gather their thoughts and become self-aware • This helps people discover their inner self • You can begin to forget about you troubles • Your confidence can increase as you push you limits

  4. Quotes • “I run therefore I am.” • “You cannot propel yourself forward by patting yourself on the back.” • “Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you traveled from where you started.” • "Running is a mental sport...and we're all insane!“ • Learn to run when feeling the pain: then push harder

  5. Why run??? Running is a sport of discipline, sometimes of sacrifice, and always of self-reliance. You may surprise yourself with your capacity for all three. The personal rewards can be quite powerful.

  6. Again, why run?? • To loose weight • To improve fitness • To relieve stress • To kill time • To feel better • - Physically, mentally, emotionally

  7. Running can be fun! Try it!! Thank you… Presented by Patrick Peterson
