Projects and Trips • There will be one book report per marking period- Must be reading-level appropriate • Field Trip to Sandy Hook, NJ (Exact Date TBA) • Visiting the New Linden Library-Get your child a library card. It’s free! • Writing Workshop-Intro to Research Reports • Science- Moon Journal • Possibly one additional class trip • All class projects are listed under “Class Projects” on our class homepage! • Linden Academy Awards---Historical Reenactment Video Contest
Homework • Homework is posted each and every morning. Students are responsible for copying assignments into their planners. • Assignments and notices are put into students’ mailboxes. Students have been instructed to make sure they have everything before they leave. • Homework is due the next day unless otherwise directed.
Additional Information • Students should always have a chapter book at their desk for reading during 100 Book Challenge and if they finish their work early. • New Jersey (S.S.)- Before tests, there will be at least two days of review. • Junior Geographer - All work is counted as a test grade and is open book. • Health - All work is counted as a test grade and is open book.
Grading Scale (Determined by the Linden Board of Education) • A = 90 -100 • B = 82 - 89 • C = 75 - 81 • D = 70 - 74 • F = 0 – 69 Progress reports keep you informed of your child’s quarterly progress.

Supplies Needed for the Classroom • Please replenish your child’s pencil supply as the year continues. • When sending money into school, place in an envelope with your child’s name, class (3K), amount enclosed, and what the money is for. • Tissues! Tissues! Tissues!- The school does not supply the classrooms with tissues - only paper towels - which make for very sore noses when students have the sniffles. • Hand sanitizer (example:Purell) - A&P sells the Lucky brand for $1/bottle
