Definition Communication Skill: The ability in areas of languages and understanding communicating expressively, and practical language skills and you would have to know the 3’cs which are clear, concise, and complete. There are two main ways of communicating One –way communication Two –way communication One way communication: one way communication is when information is passed to a person or a group and there is no opportunity for questions to be asked. Self-Assessment: I used this way of communicating a few times in my placements and with my friends, I only uses this when I have to give a set of instructions out to my friends if they weren’t here or to a class and didn’t want to be interrupted while I was explaining the instructions.

Links to leadership: One way communication is linked to leadership because they are use in various ways such as ; Announcements ,Posters, Television , Articles , and Lectures Future Plan: My Future plan is I would use this style when I am somewhere where I am focused on a task by using the communication style and I can get their attention by using the one way communication so I could get there attentions and in this situation they would be listening while I am explaining. Two Way communication: Two way communication is when the information is passed to a person or a group and there are opportunity to ask questions for clarification or offer an opinion. Self Assessments: I used this type of communication in my placements and sometime even in class. I use this more than I use the one way communication because whenever I am working or I don’t understand something I would ask the teacher questions and sometimes my classmate would be asking me question and concerns that they have and I would answer them and try to help them out.

Links to leadership: This is linked to leadership because as a leader we communicate with others and sometimes we use these communication style to help out one another two way communications are mostly used such as ; Emails , Phone calls and face to face conversation with one another Future plan: My future plan is instead of always using this style when I am helping a classmate or student I wouldn’t just work with a student one on one I would get a group of students who need help on staying on task and improve my communication. I can improve because sometimes I can be a bit shy when I talk to a group of people I don’t know
