Lesson 4.5. Objective : To write an equation in Direct variation form. Direct Variation : occurs when two values x and y vary directly from each other in the form y = kx where k is the constant of variation. In y = kx the k may not equal zero.

In y = kx the k may not equal zero The graphs of y = kx, the line always passes through the origin Examples of direct variation equations. Y = -X Y = 2X Y= -5X Y = .2X
