  4. LdV meeting, Izmit, Turkey, 2011 LOCATION OF THE SCHOOL • The school is located in Pasvalys district. • Pasvalys district is in the northern part of Lithuania.

LdV meeting, Izmit, Turkey, 2011 BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL • According to the willof landlord Ignas Karpis, • the parish school in Joniškėlis was founded in 1810. • It was a special four-years two-forms school: first two years the pupils were taught subjects of general education and the next two they were taught the fundamentals of agriculture.

  6. LdV meeting, Izmit, Turkey, 2011 OUR SCHOOL (1)‏ New building, 1964 • In 1899, according to the czar’s instructions, an agricultural schoolwas founded in Joniškėlis. • It was named after the first fundator Ignas Karpis and had100 ha of land for agronomy farm.

THE SCHOOL TODAY LdV meeting, Izmit, Turkey, 2011 • Type of the school – secondary vocational; • The school has a licence to carry out 17 initial vocational training programs, 7 of them are related to agriculture or rural development; • We can also provide training courses for adults by35 labour market training programs; • The school has 103 ha of land for training farm.

  12. LdV meeting, Izmit, Turkey, 2011 OUR STUDENTS • Students, seeking their first profession, are 16-20 years old; • They learn profession with general education – we teach 10th, 11th and 12th grades; • Students after secondary school receive only vocational training.
