  2. Accent marks and special characters are often needed for a foreign language assignment. These are created in Word using a combination of special key strokes and the letters that are to be accented. Loudoun Valley High School 2005.2006

  3. These include foreign language words such as: sí señorita bon appétit coup de grâce Loudoun Valley High School 2005.2006

  4. To create the accent mark in the spanish word ‘sí’,the following keystrokes are used. Control + ‘(apostrophe), the letter This means that you press the control and apostrophe key at the same time, release them and then press the ‘i’. Loudoun Valley High School 2005.2006

  5. To create other accent marks sometimes requires additional keystrokes, such as the ‘ñ’ in the word señora. The keystrokes for this are Control+Shift+ ~ (Tilde),the letter Loudoun Valley High School 2005.2006
