  2. Plant McIntosh Steam Damage Notes verbatim from steam plant log book • Bad lighting strike on unit. Mw’s dropped to 5 MW and picked back up to 163 MW • Ga. Control called at 9:58, requesting more voltage on machine and all CT’s • Called 8-506-2874 about down line across plant access road 9:20 CST • Lost generator breaker 75756 (South) during storm. Try to put it back in Per Joe Griggs. • CC Site was badly damaged by a tornado? All workers Zittrouer, Duke, Atkins are all OK! • W.O. #677 written for south generator breaker 75756 lost it during storm • W.O. #678 Written for CT-1 cooling water fan • W.O. #679 Written for leaking roof over turbine room floor • W.O. # 681 written for cooling fans on CT-8 • Hold Tag put generator breaker 75756 (Per PCC) Summary of storm damage at Steam and Combustion Turbine Site: McIntosh steam and combustion turbine site had very little damage. The electrical feed to the administration building as well as the combustion turbine site is currently not in service. An electrician is being called to repair. The demineralizers for the combustion turbine site is currently not available. A water trailer is being called to support demineralizer water needs. Otherwise, the units are all available for full load.

Plant McIntosh CC Tornado Damage • Unit 11 Cooling tower totally destroyed • Unit 10 Cooling tower severely damaged • Fuel Oil MCC destroyed • Maintenance shop destroyed • Conexes filled with specialty tools and equipment destroyed • Equipment Storage Shed severely damaged • Water labs for both units damaged • Gas yard has suffered damage • Admin building has suffered damage • Several company and private vehicles damaged • Miscellaneous heavy equipment damaged • Other miscellaneous damage

Plant McIntosh CC Timeline • At 20:46:55 Fuel Oil MCC became unresponsive • At 20:47:04 Unit 10 Cooling Tower indicated high vibration on several fans • At 20:47:10 Unit 11 Cooling Tower indicated high vibration on several fans • At 20:50:33 both Unit 11 Aux Circ Water Pumps tripped due to low basin level which in turn tripped the steam turbine automatically • GPO investigated low basin level and found Cooling Tower destroyed • 20:54:41 breakers opened on Unit 11 CT’s and fired shutdown initiated • Unit 10 began normal shutdown after damage was found • 21:06:12 Unit 10 shutdown • Management notified • Gas yard leakage noted due to a damaged safety, manually isolated

Damage Assessments in Progress • SCS Engineering and Marley Rep in route to assess options regarding cooling towers. • GE will provide assessment of any damage to gas turbines. • HRSG damage to be assessed by HRST • Alstom Steam Turbines to be assessed by Alstom • Water Treatment Plant to be assessed by GE • Gas yard will be assessed by AGL • Electrical and structural support by SCS Engineering • GPC Storm center is providing initial support. • Southern Company insurance reps to be onsite tomorrow morning.
