EO Summit III Docs: 18-Month History (1) • July 2003 - 10-Year Implementation Plan authorized at EO Summit I • August 2003 to April 2004 - Secretariat and Subgroups develop Framework Document and Subgroup Reports on proposed Plan content • April 2004 - Framework Document adopted and Subgroup Reports accepted at EO Summit II

EO Summit III Docs: 18-Month History (2) • April 2004 to July 2004 - Implementation Plan Task Team (IPTT) established; Plan and Reference Document developed by IPTT with input from Subgroups and technical experts • August 2004 to January 2005 - Reference Document reviewed by technical experts in three rounds • October 2004 to January 2005 - Text of Plan and Draft Resolution for EO Summit III reviewed by governments, negotiated at GEO-5, and released for final review

EO Summit III Docs: Steps to Finalization and Publication • GEO-6 approves Plan and Resolution and accepts Reference Document for forwarding to EO Summit III • EO Summit III adopts Plan and Resolution and accepts Reference Document • ESA, on behalf of GEO, publishes 2,000 copies of the Plan and 5,000 copies of the Plan and Reference Document together • Secretariat, in cooperation with ESA, arranges for distribution
