  2. APES Exam • 100 Multiple choice questions (60%) • No penalty for incorrect answers • No calculators • 90 minutes • 4 Free Response Questions (40%) • 1 Data, 1 Document Based, 2 Synthesis • 90 Minutes – 22 ½ minutes per question

FRQ’s • Answer in complete sentences; do NOT use lists, charts, outlines, etc. Show all work with units for the calculation questions. • • Label each section as it is labeled in the question (e.g. a, b, c or i, ii, iii) • • Add a clearly labeled diagram to support your answer, but it cannot be the entire answer • • For every statement you write, ask yourself “WHY.” If there is an answer to that ‘why’ keep on writing! • Display "College Knowledge” • • Do not answer more than what is asked for; e.g. If the questions says to choose 3 out of 5 topics, ONLY answer three out of 5; e.g. If the question asks specifically about renewable energy resources, don’t discuss fossil fuel use.

  10. Seed Tree Harvesting– 4-5 mature trees per acre are left to repopulate area – more susceptible to damage Clear Cutting – can lead to massive soil loss when on a slope.
