  1. Browse Task TeamProgress to date, future plan 6th SG Meeting, Osaka Osamu Ochiai (NASDA) Browse Task Team Leader

BTT Objectives • The Browse Task Team investigates the form of browse products (content representation, etc.), the methods used to derive browse products from data, and the functionality of browse visualization tools. In this context, a browse product is defined as a data item which is derived from an original data product to quickly give users information about the data product itself.

  3. SG-5 in Boulder “Systems Engineering” version of Browse Guidelines Document (BGD) was presented. Comments indicated that the document was too long and should describe browse data characteristics. Further comments pointed out that data characteristics should be handled by the Data Subgroup. It was agreed that the BTT would work together with members of the Data Subgroup. Discussion to date

  4. Current status • With input from the Data Subgroup the BGD has been shortened and rewritten to emphasize browse data characteristics. Several “Systems Engineering” sections were deleted. • BGD follows same format as Format Guidelines Document • Draft of BGD is now ready for review by AS and related persons.

  5. BGD Finalization After the review is completed, we will finalize BGD. We will put BGD online on the CEOS/WGISS server. BGD Maintenance Does BGD need maintenance? BGD maintenance by BTT or AS? Future Plan
