Your Child’s Teacher • grew up 8 miles north of Brookings • graduated from Deubrook High School • worked at 3-M for 5 years prior to higher ed • received Bachelor and Master degrees from SDSU

Language Arts • Grammar: conventions, verbs, & conjunctions through Daily Oral Language and written assignments • Writing: Prompt A Day, Write to Learn online (opinion pieces, informative texts, and narratives) • Word Study: grade appropriate phonics, high frequency word spelling, Make Big Words, 240 Words Kids Should Know, vocabulary used in our grammar lessons and writing practice • Speaking and Listening Skills: engage in discussions, summarize aloud, report orally • Literature: picture book activities
