Say NO to Bullying!! Welcome to R.E.A.C.H. class . Today, we will be learning about Bullying. We will learn what bully behavior is, how to stop bullying, and how to help others in our school. Love, Mrs. Boileau
What is Bullying? • When someone is being mean to you. • When someone makes others feel sad, scared, unsafe or uncomfortable. • When the same behavior happens over and over and over!
What does a Bully do? Physical (Actions) Verbal (Words)
What does a Bully do? Relational (Friendships)
How is a Bully different from someone who makes a mistake? • Bullies do things on purpose to be mean or hurt you! • Bullies do things over and over again! • Being a bully is worse that just making a mistake! • Bullies don’t care how they treat others, and they don’t feel bad when they hurt you! • We all make mistakes, but we fix them and try to do better the next time!
Three words to remember… Bully – the person who is being mean! Target/Victim – the person who is being bullied! Bystander – the person who is near by and sees bully behavior!
What can you do? DON’T JOIN IN MAKE A FRIEND GET HELP FROM FRIENDS
What can you do? TAKE A STAND TALK TO A GROWN UP
