  3. Lessons Learned from WaelGhonim • Voice: confrontational vs inclusive, Egyptian colloquial Arabic • "KullenaKhaled Said spoke the language of the internet generation. The tone of the page was always decent and nonconfrontational." -- this carried over into the physical activities • Voice: who is behind this message, individual political organization, business? • Virtual world represents or parallels the physical world(reporting vs. activation) • Importance of Video: did Khaled Said have one? / Importance of photos: see the movement vsnameless posts

Lessons Learned from WaelGhonim • Organization/Activation Strategies • changing profile image • organizing physical meet-ups • constant reporting/online activity during the event • Organizational steps: • joining • liking/commenting • participating • activating (from a commenter!) • Online/Offline Interaction • Plan online, do offline (mirror events), share online

Pages deemed important receive a higher PageRank™ and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results. PageRank™ also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value.
