Interview with Keith • We contacted Keith, from Red Bull about their social media strategies. He responded by saying, “We’re extremely flattered! Unfortunately, the marketing strategy that has worked best for us is not to publish our strategies.” • Although we were not able to get an inside look into Red Bull’s media strategies, we were able to finds some valuable information.
History of Red Bull • “Red Bull was first launched in Austria by a man named Dietrich Mateschitz (who still heads the company). Red Bull is now available in 165 countries and last year more than 4 billion cans were consumed worldwide. That’s a lot of wiiings!”
Red Bull in our Social Media • “Red Bull Media House fully integrates social media marketing into every project.” • With over 35 million followers across all social channels, Red Bull is one of the most comprehensive and flexible media companies in the world today. • Red Bull uses YouTube, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, and Foursquare

Facebook and Google+ • 2,609,010 Google+ followers and increasing everyminute! • Facebook currently has 40,917,207 followers! That’s a lot of people watching Red Bull! • Facebook and Google+ are similar in that they both share videos and information about new and upcoming Red Bull events.
Twitter • Red Bull’s twitter account has 1,212,702 followers They post pictures, videos, comics, and inspirational tweets.
Instagram • 956,036 followers on Instagram • “@RedBull is the only Instagram account that #GivesYouWings. Follow to get inspired.”
Stratos Jump • Red Bull sponsored a jump for the ages. Felix Baumgartner broke the sound barrier. He started 128,000 feet above the Earth where he reached speeds as high as 833.9 miles per hour. • Red Bull showed this jump on their YouTube channel which had more than 8 million viewers. • It is said that Red Bull Stratos may be the most successful marketing campaign of all time.
Monster Energy • Monster Energy drink is a rival of Red Bull. Monster has great marketing strategies as well. They appeal to the male audience who play Call of Duty. They are helping to promote a new game, Call of Duty: Ghost. • They teamed up with them to give away many different types of prizes, but to do so, you must redeem the code on the inside of the Monster can. • This has helped Monster sell many products recently.
Red Bull vsMonster • While Monster has some great social media strategies, Red Bull has almost revolutionized social media strategy. • The Stratos jump was a live event with millions of viewers. • Red Bull has made a name for themselves by sponsoring extreme sports and making a name for themselves by helping people do amazing things in sports. This paired with their slogan “it gives you wiiiings!” makes people believe that they can conquer anything. • Red Bull also has many inspirations tweets and statuses that make others feel good about themselves and what they can do.
