Peer to Peer (P2P) Communications The TDE automatically supports P2P communication between compatible endpoints registered to the same IPCMPR card (Such as NT300,NT265(D) and SIP extensions). Non-P2P Path P2P Path P2P Path P2P Path By using Peer to Peer mode, we can: - Potentially reduce network wide traffic to the PBX - Improve voice quality for P2P calls (By using G722 codec – Only supported for P2P calls) SIP SIP

  10. 3. DHCP Client (1/3) IP Address IP Address IP Address TDE New DHCP Client DHCP Client DHCP Client DHCP Server DHCP Client The TDE 100/200 supports DHCP addressing for both the PBX and the IP-PT’s. During IP-PT registration, the IP-PT can locate the registered PBX by sending a broadcast message. The PBX will then respond and the IP-PT will complete it’s registration process. The DHCP discovery feature is only supported on the NT300 series and NT265(d) IP-PT.

  11. 3. DHCP Client (2/3) Important Information (1) The TDE100/200 needs 2 IP Addresses. One is used for the IPCMPR card and the other is used for the VoIP DSP card. (2) By default DHCP Client is disabled and you must program the following settings… - IP Address for IPCMPR card, - IP Address forVoIP DSP card - Subnet Mask - Default Gateway. (3) With DHCP Client enabled, the IP-PT ‘PBX auto-discovery’ process will only work within the same L2 broadcast domain. (4) If the IP address of the IPCMPR card is changed after IP-PT registration, you will need to re-register the IP-PT. If you have enabled DHCP client on the TDE100/200, please ask your network administrator “NOT to change IP address for IPCMPR card” (create a DHCP reservation on the DHCP server).

  13. 4. Encryption (1/5) To activate the encryption feature you must install an optional SD card (KX-TDES01sxx) When the Encryption feature is activated ALL voice packets are encrypted between the following end points. (1) NT300 NT300 (2) NT300 VoIP DSP (TDE) (3) VoIP DSP (TDE) VoIP DSP (TDE) The encryption feature will only support the above endpoints – Any calls to an NT265D or SIP extension on the same TDE interface will result in a failed call (User will hear noise). The encryption scheme only applies to IP-PT’s connected to the TDE IPCMPR and to the TDE DSP (It will not work on IPExt16 or IPGW4/16 cards which are additional hardware cards).

  21. NT265(D) NT265(D) 7. IP-PT Tone (2/2) NT265 Operation After you upgrade NT265 software, you can connect NT265(D) to both IP-EXT card And IPCMPR card. IPCMPR Card IPEXT Card All tones are generated by PBX. Hold Music comes from MOH1/MOH2. All tones are generated by NT265(D) except BGM. Hold tone is generated by NT265(D).

SIP Extension Registration (1/2) To Register A SIP Extension • Select the required extension number • Set the extension to ‘OUS’ • Configure a password • Apply the settings to the PBX • Set the extension to ‘INS’ • Enter the username (ext no.), extension number, password and IPCMPR IP Address and port number on the SIP client (If your SIP agent requires a sign-in name you should use ‘extension number@IPCMPR IP’ e.g. 301@192.168.0.1) After Virtual SIP Ext. Card is installed, these values are automatically set. If you use extension numbers as passwords, you can press the ‘Copy To’ button and copy extension numbers to passwords. This is not recommended for secure installations.

  23. 8. SIP Extension Registration (2/2) As for the below models, we confirmed the level of the simple operation, and we are confirming the SIP extension officially in the current state. - SPA921 (LINKSYS) - SNOM300 (SNOM) - GXP-2000 (Grandstream) - IP-290 (elmeg) - AT320IAX (ATCOM)

  24. 9. SIP Function Restrictions Notes for SIP Extension Users a. The following features are available to SIP Extension users: – Making calls – Answering calls – Holding calls – Transferring calls (Unscreened transfer is not supported.) b. The available supported functions using feature numbers are limited (Please refer to the telephone types displayed at the top left of each operation in the User Manual). c. The operations for Call Forwarding (FWD)/Do Not Disturb (DND)/Personal Speed Dialing using the feature number, are not available. However, it is possible to enable these features at SIP Extensions if set through system programming. d. TDA tones are not available for SIP Extension users. Tones or the tone types may vary depending on the type of telephone being used. For example, when you put a call on hold, whether a tone is heard or not will depend on the type of SIP phone. e. Any number pressed while hearing a Busy/DND/Reorder tone, such as the feature number to activate Automatic Callback Busy, will be ignored. f. The operations for SIP Extensions may differ from the steps in this manual, and may vary depending on the type of telephone being used.
