ABOUT Rural Development Foundation Educate • RDF was set up to provide quality education to rural, underprivileged children in Andhra Pradesh • It has grown from 80 students in 1 school in 1 village to over 1500 children enrolled in 4 schools and 1 Junior College in 4 villages • 115 locally sourced dedicated, teaching & non teaching staff • Provides access to quality education: holistic model incorporating academic, life skills and extra curricular activities Engage Empower

RDF’S EDUCATION MODEL (1) Educate Sports Development in partnership with Tata Archery Academy, Jamshedpur; Government Sports Schools and individual supporters Career Guidance, Life Skills and Extracurricular Programs in partnership with GE Capital, Washington University and individual supporters Grow by Reading in partnership with Hippocampus Learning, Bangaluru Engage Whole School Evaluation in partnership with expert Education analysts Academic Development in partnership with Silver Oaks –The school of Hyderabad and individual supporters Empower Social Awareness Program in partnership with individual supporters Capacity building and skill development workshops / trainings for the teaching and non teaching staff

RDF’S EDUCATION MODEL – (2) Educate CfBT– Conducted free workshops in physics and mathematics in RDF schools in the beginning of the current academic year. - CfBT Partially sponsored Butterfly fields – Science/Mathematics concepts learning by doing/experiential learning - Grades 6 to 8 in Rollakal & Redlawada - beneficiaries 150 students & teachers -sponsored by MrAnantPai Kalleda school exclusively has got i. English Helper - paid programme ii. Khan Academy – Sponsored and initiated by Value labs iii. Grow by Reading - paid programme Magic Bus – The concept of using sports as medium for team spirit, physical and mental health augmentation -Sponsored by Ms VanditaRao Engage Empower

RDF’s ACHIEVEMENTS Educate • Over 3000 students and families impacted through RDF’s • education initiatives • 15 National Archery Champions and a Beijing Olympian • Selection to National Archery academies and Government Sports • Colleges leading to reduced Financial burden on parents • Over 600 alumni pursuing vocational and degree courses; • increasing literacy rates in villages of operation • Decreased child marriage and child labour over 17 years due to • excellent attendance and negligent drop out rates in schools • Provides employment to local literate and skilled people • In State and district level sport events for under 14 and under 17, • RDF’s children have won several prizes in Fencing, KhoKho, • Karate, Running, Kabbaddi, Long jump, High • jump, Shot put, Discus throw • 2 students got selected for State level • Yoga competitions.   8. RDF’s ACHIEVEMENTS Educate K. Rekha, N. Rekha, K. Varalaxmi, D. Kalyani & G.Sumalatha of Matendla School received 3 awards on International Women’s Day event at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad For the last two consecutive years RDF Kalleda School achieved a 100% pass percentage in 10th board examinations. P. Upagna from RDF Kalleda School got 10 / 10 points in SSC exams, 2012-13. 27 Students from RDF Kalleda School participated in State and District level Science talent tests/fairs RDF Vanitha Achutha Pai Vidyalaya – S. Navyasri (MPC Ist year, English Medium) got 431/470 and B. Naresh (MPC 2nd year, English medium) got 912/1000. Engage Received ‘INSPIRE’ award from the Central Govt for innovation in Science. Class 8 student, M. Rajesh was selected for creating a sprinkler system from recycled materials. In previous years, RDF Kalleda and Rollakal Schools have also won this award Empower Abhilash, G. Rani and P. Umarani’s essays, ‘Situations of Rural Students of India’. were telecast by BBC in 2007

RDF’s Sponsorship Programs Educate Sponsorship Through Endowment: Sponsor a child by contributing to our endowment fund – Plan for a minimum of $368/Rs 22500 to a maximum $12295/ Rs 750000 Sponsor A Child Sponsor a student in an RDF School. The funding will ensure no matter the hardships faced by the child’s family, they will remain in school. Cost: Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 10,000 per annum. For just Rs. 650-850 per month, the child will get access to education, a nutritious midday meal, textbooks, notebooks & uniforms. Engage Empower

  10. RDF’s Sponsorship Programs Educate Sponsor A Classroom Sponsor a Classroom and make dream a reality for 25-30 children. Our classrooms have a healthy teacher- student ratio of 1:30 To ensure that all these children remain in school, the annual cost is Rs. 2, 25,000 in primary school and Rs. 3, 00,000 in high school approximately Engage Empower

  11. RDF’s Sponsorship Programs Educate Sponsor A Meal “A healthy body begets a healthy mind” RDF students and staff receive a free, nutritious midday meal every day Commemorate a loved one’s birthday or special day via an ‘Annadanam’ Amount: Rs. 21,000 per day to feed 1500 kids Engage Empower

  12. RDF’s Sponsorship Programs Educate Sponsor Infrastructure Development A donation of Rs. 4 Lakh for construction of a classroom enables 400 children to graduate over a period of 10 years. Rs. 60 Lakh will ensure the children get better school building with 10 classrooms, toilets, drinking water, library, dining hall and sports facilities.   13. RDF’s Alumni Educate • Academic performance - D. Babu got 3993 rank in EAMCET & joined KIMS (medical college). • Purna chandar got 9.7 GPA out of 10 in 10th class. He got 4000 rank in polytechnic Entrance test & got free seat in Hyderabad polytechnic college with hostel facility. • Political achievement - Sarpanch - Banoth Vijay Kumar said that, “RDF’s values of Educate, Engage and Empower always remained in my heart”.  • Sports achievements – Archery- Two girls from Kalleda School, Lavanya and Sharada, got selected for the India under 18 junior team. They came first and third. They will represent India in the junior world championships. • Sumalatha, our alumni student, completed her PET training with good rank. • Mr. Vinod, first batch student, completed MBBS. • Kumari Srivani, first batch student, completed her BAMS.
