  2. Getting Ready • Borrowed/stole ideas from NDI • Announced the contest at a regional meeting of all our site coordinators • Set up page on our website with all the rules and deadlines • Found a sponsor for the prize

  3. A Little Encouragement

Video Submission and Voting • Sites were responsible for uploading their videos on YouTube and sending us a link to that video by April 1st • All 11 entries were shared on Facebook • Voting began April 4th and ended on April 15th • Likes on FB and YouTube determined the winner • We announced the winner on April 18th • All the video submissions can be found at www.youtube.com/eksbayarea

  5. Video Contests and Social Media: challenges and perks Challenges: • Not everyone is on FB or YouTube • Became a popularity contest vs. a good video contest Perks: • 775 likes! • Created an online VITA community • Share-ability
