Extra-Extra • Create a handbill that might have been used to encourage people to support ratification of the Constitution. • Your handbill must include these things: • a catchy slogan that metaphorically compares the Articles of Confederation w/ the Constitution. (or use simile) (2 pts) • For example, The Articles were like a sapling bending in the wind, but the Constitution is like a towering oak tree—strong and steady. • 3 ways that the framers of the Constitution created a more effective national gov’t. (3 pts) • an illustration to accompany each of those 3 explanations. (3 pts) • 1-2 sentence statement by one of the framers, such as James Madison, that enthusiastically endorses the Constitution. (1 pt) • creative touches to make your handbill visually appealing, such as a decorative border. (1 pt) • Total: 10 pts
