Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry • Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry revenues are estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars annually. • The industry's claim is that they spend $800 million on research & development for every new drug which receives FDA approval. • Much of the R&D efforts are pursued computationally these days. Fall 2010
