  4. HCS Advanced Manufacturing Academy Students Are Designing Flight Hardware for NASA As a First, HCS Students are Designing and Fabricating Flight Hardware for Space Station. Our Students Will Design and Print Flight Bracket-Clamp Parts Within Our Advanced Manufacturing Academy. Students Will Use Siemens Solid Edge Software in the Design Phase and 0ur Fortus 3D Printer with Special ULTEM FDM (Plastic) During the Manufacturing Phase to Fabricate a Bracket-Clamp for the Space Station. This Bracket-Clamp will Use High Temp Material that Meets the Flammability and 120lbs. Kick Load Test Requirements for the Space Station.

  5. Advanced Manufacturing

  6. Advanced Manufacturing HCS students will also design space suit hard body parts using Computer Aided Design tools in the CAD-Drafting segment of our Advanced Manufacturing Academy. The suit will be used for ergonomics and human factors studies as NASA develops the Deep Space Habitat Suit.

  7. Advanced Manufacturing • In future projects, HCS students will design and fabricate parts for the SPACE Station and Deep Space Habitat in the HCS Advanced Manufacturing Composites Layup Facility. • Our students will re-design the existing aluminum Galley table clamp assembly for fabrication in composite materials to reduce weight. Our students will design a reverse mold for the composite layup using Siemens Solid Edge tools and fabricate the clamp using one of our 3D printers.
