2. BJIT Examination System (BES) BJIT Limited Dhaka, Bangladesh

3. Objective • Take the students exam in LAN network. • Students can see his/her previous performance. • Students can test his/her current development. • Student can attend three types of examination Class Test Practice Exam. Final Exam.

4. Overall Concept • The software is developed to use in distributed environment fulfilling the need of modern system requirements like • To work in Local Area Network. • To support Client-Server mode. • Remote database manipulation. • Secure management of information.

5. Admin Part Admin is the super user of this software. Admin has the right to change any information. Student Part Student is the simple user of the software. Student can not make any change the software. Student just can use the information as the admin sets. The Software Has Two Parts

6. Admin Can do the Following. Add new admin. Delete or Lock a student. Create new subject topic. Store new question. Create new question set manually. Set total time for exam. Search student result in ID wise or Subject wise.

7. Student Can do the Following Edit his/her profile. • Attend class test. • Made practice for exam preparation. • Attend to the final exam. • Result analysis. • Previous performance analysis.

8. Software internal overview. • Internally the software has three parts. • 1. Connect server part. • 2. Administrator part. • 3. Client or user part. [#] Connect server part is used to made the connectivity to the server and the client. When a new client is add to the server, its made ready to the server to response the client request. Server has super power to kick out any specific client. [#] Administrator can change the client status. [#] Client couldn't made any change to the server. Client just send the request to the server, server process the request and send to the response.

9. Frame overview This part is used to describe every specific from with their important functionality. These include the required information and the resulting information. Its also include the frame preview.

10. Student Window • This is the main window for student. • Student can enter his/her chose from here. • He/She must be a registered user to access the final and class test exams, the other options are open to all. • The result of all the exams are showed, but only the Final and Class test results are stored.

11. Registration • Student inserts the necessary information and gets himself registered. • The * Labeled items are mandatory. Others are optional. • The student ID is automatically generated by the Server.

12. Edit Profile • Upon authenticating by registration ID and Password. • The server shows the profile. • The student then can change his/her profile.

13. Practice Exam • Student selects the desired subject from the subject box and the corresponding topics are shown in the table. • The student can select the number of question for each topic and start the exam. • By default selected question is zero.

14. Class Test • The student inserts the registration Id and Password. • And question set Id and password, which is previously created by admin and delivered to the student, which will make him eligible to appear in the exam.

15. Final Exam Authentication • Student authenticates himself and selects the subject in which he/she wants to appear for the Final Exam. • If the student is locked by the admin, he/she can’t attend in the final exam.

16. Exam Form • The questions are automatically generated by the server randomly for Final Exam. And according to the QuestionSet for Class Test. • Student can jump to any number of question by selecting the Question number. • An alarm is shown when 20% of Exam time is left and after that the exam paper is automatically submitted.

17. Mark Form • This is a special feature, where the student can watch his/her current status during the exam (i.e. how many questions are answered, marked as confused and not answered. • The student can jump to any of the question from here.

18. Result Analysis • Student gives his/her registration ID and password. • Upon authentication the date of exam, subject and percentage of marks are shown in the table.

19. Student Help • This is an help area where the all the required information are listed. • If any one is confused he/she can just see this help.

20. Admin Part • First the auhentication dialog authenticates the admin user. • Only the valid administrator can enter this part.

21. Add New Admin. • Any valid admin can add a new administrator. • Its required fields are the admin name and the password. • The logged on admin can edit his/her profile also in here.

22. Del Lock student. • Any student can be locked or deleted by the admin. • Locked is a temporary action to make Final and Class test exams unavailable to a student. • Admin can also unlock a student here. • Admin alsocan delete a student.

23. Create New Subject Topic • The admin can add a new subject and corresponding topics in that subject , the subject name and the subject id is dynamically added to the subject name combo. • The admin selects the subject and can add, edit or update the topics. • An special button which shows the current topics of the selected subject.

24. Store New Question • For Adding a new question select the subject name, topic name and the skill level to store in that category. • Each question can have any number of answer. • The correct answers are marked by clicking the check box. • All Question’s can be edited from the database. • Any Question can be deleted from the database. • In final exam only the skilled level question are generated.

25. Create Question Set • The admin can set a manual question for Class test or Final exam. • The admin selects the subject name, the topic name and the skilled level and all the available questions are shown in the table. • The admin selects question’s from any subject to make a Final or Class test Question set. • The admin also specifies the time ( in seconds ) for each question.

26. Set Total Time • This feature is used only in final exam. • The admin gives the number of questions and the time for each individual question. • The given number of questions are generated from the ‘Skilled’ level of the Question Bank.

27. Search Student Result • The admin can search either the Class Test or the Final Exam Results. • The admin can search a specific student’s result by giving his/her name or the id. • Admin can also search subject wise. • Admin can also search by initials of any students name. • The result of the class test is shown according to the QuestionSetId created by the that logged on admin

28. Conclusion • The software is currently used in the LAN environment. • In future it will be added in the internet. • This is recently used to take exam of BJIT internal student, it will be future used to take exam of international student.
