  1. Dear Parents, One of the reasons why there are growing number of children with special needs in Singapore is that society are much aware of it. I remembered taking a module in Children with Special Needs when I was studying for Diploma in Early Childhood Education. The module was quite heavy but it enlightened us by explaining why there are some children who behave “differently” from others. It gave us insight on how to identify the special needs and a need for early intervention is important. As every child is unique and special, we learn to accept their differences and achievements. In term 3, the children learn the different races and their uniqueness such as language, costume, etiquette and belief. Its interesting to see the children learning to say the word “Hello “ in ten different languages. “Assalammualaikum” (Arab) “Konnichi Wa” (Japanese) “Namaste” (Hindi) “Apa khabar?” (Malay) “Sawa Dee-Ka” (Thai) “你好” (Chinese) “ahn nyeong ha se yo” (Korean) “Vanakkam” (Tamil) “Mingala Ba” (Burmese) “Bonjour” (French) Ms Yee and Tr. Jasmine

  2. Time passes very fast & term 3 has finally ended. In term 3, we learnt more about bears; the different kind of bears, their habitat & their diet. We enjoyed role playing the story “We’re going on a bear hunt”. Through the book, we learnt preposition words such as “under”, “over” & “through” This term was a little special as we get to know more about the different culture in Singapore through the National Day celebration. We had our hands decorated with henna. We also enjoyed cookery lessons; cookies for National Day, kuih for Hari Raya & fruit yoghurt for the healthy living week. PG Newsletter

  3. N1’s Cookery lesson Let’s mix the dough… During the Hari Raya celebrations, N1 children get the chance to bake peanut butter cookies. This is their first time baking in school for this festive season. All of them participate actively and was very engrossed throughout the baking session. They definitely have a great fun baking the cookies.
