  1. Let’s talk about peer pressure Proverbs 1:10-19

  2. Proverbs 1:10-19 • 10 My son, if sinners entice you ,Do not consent. 11If they say, “Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause; 12Let us swallow them alive like Sheol,And whole, like those who go down to the Pit; 13We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil; 14Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse”— 15My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path; 16For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood. 17Surely, in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird; 18But they lie in wait for their own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives. 19So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.

  8. Pressure can be overcome • Genesis 39:8-9 • 8But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. 9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”

  9. We will be made stronger • James 1:2-4 • 2My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
