Forse anche il Limax bivonae Lessona & Pollonera 1882 (6a, b) della Sicilia (con altro modo dell‘accoppiamento senza filo di bava) è imparentato con L. maximus. 3 4 5 Limax maximus (3, 4) si presenta oggi sul granito di Chiavenna (3), sulla roccia vulcanica di Ischia sul Monte Epomeo (4).
