  1. Final Submission Checklist This is what you will need to turn in. Make sure you have them exactly in order.

  2. Final Project- Due December 1 (15 days away!) • A cover sheet (typed) C:\Documents and Settings • The product (research paper, children’s story, biography chapter). • Your works cited page with 5 references (typed) R:\Works Cited sample.docx • Notes for your oral presentation. You can get this from my web page (Interview or Book Talk) • A video/audiotape of book talk or interview

  3. Book Talk3-5 minutes Each student will assume the persona of the author studied. In the book talk you should: • Give title of book you are discussing • Briefly summarize the book’s plot • Tell important events that happened in history when this book was written • Tell reasons why the author write the book • Describe hardships the author had while writing the book • Was the book popular when first released? Why or why not? • Read an excerpt (paragraph or two) and explain why the selection is important to the book

  4. Interview 3-5 minutes • Each student will assume the persona of the author in an interview. • The interviewer questions the author as though it were a contemporary talk show. • The student being interviewed will provide the interviewer with the questions to be asked. • You must answer 15 questions from the interviewer. Basic questions such as “where were you born” “how old are you” “how many books have you written” DO NOT COUNT. • You may use your guiding questions. • Following the show or as part of it, you should be prepared to answer questions from the audience.

  5. OH and ONE MORE THING…. • You must DRESS UP as your author. • Even if your author is a BOY and you are a GIRL or vice versa. • You must have a costume (clothes, wig, props, etc) • You will have 1 min. to change before your presentation.
