  6. FirstLink is your local 24/7 service, specializing in suicide support services, volunteerism, and linking people to thousands of community resources. Volunteer Center Information & Crisis Services Disaster Assistance

FirstLink’s History 1967 - Volunteer Community Service began. 1970 - Began answering Helpline calls. 1987 - Became accredited through American Association of Suicidology (AAS). 2007 - Began providing 2-1-1 service for calls that originate in Cass County, ND and Clay County, MN. 2009 - Received Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) accreditation. 2010 - Received the 2-1-1 designation for the entire state of North Dakota. 2012 - Received funding from the ND Department of Health. Long-term suicide follow-up programs Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) mentorship program 2013 – Received funding from SAMSHA to continue the long-term suicide follow-up program.
