  2. Professional Development Council Goal To provide effective and focused professional development that ensures the time and structure to implement district, school, and department goals and ultimately improve student achievement.

  6. Wednesday Meetings Each Wednesday there are monthly meetings scheduled as follows: • First Wednesday Meeting: Faculty Meetings, 2:45-3:45 • Second Wednesday Meeting: Department Meetings/Grade Level, 2:45-4:45 • Third Wednesday Meeting: District – School-based Meetings, 2:45-3:45

  7. Strand I:Department/Grade Level PD 8AM-10AM on Full Day Professional Development Days 12:45PM - 3:45PM on Half Day Professional Development Days 2:45PM – 4:45PM on the 2nd Wednesday Meeting of each month

  8. Strand I:Department/Grade Level PD Elementary Schools ELEMENTARY Department/Grade Level PD Planning Middle and High Schools Department Meetings

  9. Elementary Focus Elementary Grade Level meetings are designed by the Task Forces to provide professional development on creating and implementing curriculum. Focus on: • Early Reading • Math • Science • Assessment in all areas

  10. Secondary Focus Secondary Department meetings are a designated times for faculty to meet with Curriculum Coordinators. Focus on: • Department improvement plans • State and district assessment • Mass Curriculum Frameworks • Content of Curriculum

  11. Strand II:Technology-In-Practice T-I-P

  12. Watertown Talks Tech • Teachers want to develop their technology skills within the context of their teaching and the curriculum. • There are 3 levels of technology use in practice: • Emergent • Proficient • Advanced

  13. T-I-P Mini-courses • You will be asked to select which level of proficiency best describes your technology needs. • You will select a T-I-P mini-course to take during the Full Day PD days. (10:15-12:15) • Nov 4 • Jan 20 • Feb 27 • 3 Sessions and 6 PDPs

  14. T-I-P Projects • Curriculum & Technology integrated culminating project • T-I-P Extended Project may be for you! • Atomic Learning for all T-I-P learning

  17. Strand III:District - School-based PD • Many CHOICES! • 3rd available Wednesday Meeting of each month: • 2:45PM - 3:45PM each month • Nov. 4th 1PM -3PM, part of Full Day PD • 10 PDPs over the school year
