  2. THE PERMANENT TERRITORIAL CENTRE FOR EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION IN THE ADULT AGE IS QUITE A NEW SET-UP IT WAS IN FACT INSTITUTED IN 1998 A YEAR FOLLOWING THE MINISTERIAL DECREE N°445 WICH REORGANIZED THE EDUCATION OF ADULTS

  3. WHAT THE C.T.P. IS THE C.T.P. OF LEGHORN IS AN INTERRETATION POINT OF NECESSITIES, OF PLANNING, OF ACTIVATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF INITIATIVES FOR THE EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION OF ADULTS. IT THEREFORE PROMOTES INTERINSTITUTIONAL ACTION BY COORDINATING THE OFFERS OF EDUCATION AND FORMATION PROGRAMMED ON THIS TERRITORY WHICH ARE VERTICALLY ORGANIZED WITHIN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM AND HORIZONTALY WITH OTHER EDUCATIONAL AGENTS, SO AS TO OFFER AND ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO THE DEMAND FROM INDIVIDUAL PERSONS, THE INSTITUTIONS AND THE WORKING WORLD

THE OPERATORS • Specialized teaching is employed for carrying out the instructive activities: • Operators employed full-time (regular eda state teachers) • Teachers employed full or party time on project • Operators employed part-time with a work contract (teachers and experts) • Volunteers (who are expert in the various project areas) • Social workers (as work-support in the prison “sughere” and in the jail of the isle of “Gorgona” and as support to juveniles in difficulty) • The above are employed in the following functions • receptions (education contract) • programming • planning and coordination • Teaching • Tutorship • Relation with external organization

THE ACTIVITIES • NON FORMAL • General culture • Foreign languages • Health education • Physical education • Art education • Enviromental education • Knowledge of the territory education • Informatics for beginners and detailed study • Economy and administration techniques on a P.C. • Computerized graphics • FORMAL: • Literacy teaching • Middle school • leaving certificate

  7. FINANCIAL RESOURCES The C.T.P. uses financial resources from various system and from various agents. In particoular resources are placed at our disposal by: · M.I.U.R. · The Region · Local organizations · U.E.

CONSUMERS • Instrumental analphabetics, with no educational qualification or ability. • Functional analphabeticswho, even though provided with an educational qualification, do not posses sufficint flexibility and capacity to adapt themselves to the working world and therefore need to acquire the instruments necessary for facing up to new realities as active persons. • People who wish to return to instruction for personal reason. • Foreigners, drop-outs, the old-aged, returned analphabetics in situations of hardship and/or with difficulty of insertion in the working world. • Adults with a specialization and/or a medium/high educational qualification who wish to widen and enrichen their knowledge for a major competence in their work sphere. • Prisoners • Persons with a handicap.

INNOVATIVE FACTORS • AN OPENING TO THE NON FORMAL • The C.T.P. is open to adults without a middle school-leaving certificate, as well as to those with a leaving certificate, who wish to return to education to this day the non formal activities are 90%. • FLEXIBILITY • The educational offer is differentiated according to: • Groups of interests • Groups of levels • Individualized courses • Hours • Duration of courses • Certification • Laboratories • Training INTEGRATION • Integrated projection of the educational offer with person operating in the E.D.A.

OBJECTIVE TO PROMOTE the growth of the adult person through continuous education in order to: • DEVELOP all the social communicative, cognitive, physical and artisticpotentialof an adult by means of…. • the recognition of the diversity • the recovery of disadvantages • the improvement of already possessed knowledge • the repression of hardship • the promotion of comfort

MONITORING • Periodicalrevision of the educational stipulated upon admission • Registers for monitoring the attendances • Questionnaires at the beginning and the end of the activitis for both the consumers and teachers, in order to verify the expectations and quality rating of the organizational efficency.

  12. RELATIONS WITH EXTERNAL SUBJECTS The C.T.P. In order to improve its relations with the local organizations, with the category association and with the cultural and volunteer associations, has designated an apposite figure the “objective function area 4” • We have instituited • A network between all the permanent territorial centres of the tuscan region • A vertical network between high school, middle school and primary school • A horizontal network with the educational agencies and the cultural associations
