  1. Owns pretty much everything Medieval Times By: Dean Wang

  2. Knight of the medieval times When they were very young children they were sent to live with uncles where they learned to be obedient and courteous. They learned about armor and how to take care of it and they served their master. Almost everyone learned how to use crossbows and bow and arrows. They usually needed hunters the most in winter when food was scarce. In a knight battle they never used bow and arrows, they always fought man to man. They learned how to ride a horse and they learned how to use lances. Knights had to be educated so they learned with an abacus and young boys fought with wooden swords and wooden shields. They also got to play games, but no one was gentle, everyone wasfierce. When they became knights ,the night before they didn’t eat or sleep, they just prayed. At dawn they bathed and got dressed as a knight. Their coat of arm must be shown on their shield and tunic. When he wentto the king, he got on his knees and the king tapped his shoulders lightly with a sword and said a grace. There he began his journey as a knight.

  3. Serfs of the Middle Ages 1.Serfs owned nothing 2. They worked on the fields owned by lords. 3. When necessary they fought battles for the lord. 4.They had no freedom 5.For all this they received protection.

  4. The church Nuns left their homes to save their lives from losing land and letting her husband be the important one. Pope means father. Hewas thehead of the Roman Catholic church. There were disagreements between the pope and king about who ruled over who. Monks are men who left their company of ordinary men to get away from temptations and affairs. Their first concern was to save their souls. Many became educated. Bishops were the noblemen of the churches. Sometimes they ruled large lands and had knights under them. Priests preformed services for churches. They said mass and presided over weddings, baptisms, and funerals.

  5. A knight in shining armor The helmet is the head piece of the armor. Next we have the Cuisse. This covers the thigh. After there’s the gauntlet. Gauntlets were the armor gloves that protected the hands. Coat of mail is taken from the Latin word maculata meaning spotty, mesh, or net. The coat of mail was worn under the armor, it is made of linked metal rings. Visors were movable parts in front of the eye part. There’s also the shoulder piece, elbow piece, knee and a gorget which is a piece of metal that protects the throat. The tasse is a series of overlapping plates which together form a short skirt. A cuirass is a breast plate from neck to waist. Next we have the Sabaton which covers the foot and is a shoe basically. Last the brassard which is the armor the protects the arm.

  6. Weapons and the castle The castle had so much protection and weapons it’s really hard to name them all. One more would be heavy walls that were at least 10 feet thick. Every castle had a moat, draw bridge, murder holes, tower, and portcullis. Some weapons they used were trebuchet which was like a catapult, the ballista which was like the crossbow, and mangonel which was also like a catapult. There was also a battering ram which used a tree hanged on a chain and more than 50 men crashed into a wall nonstop until the weakened and collapsed. Arrow loops are narrow openings, wide enough just so archers can fire arrows.
